NOTE: This help page describes one of the steps to be taken when you initialize repository. For an overview on initializing a repository, see the "Initializing Repositories" topic.
After you select a repository to be initialized, a page appears for creating the FTP users. Use this page to create two Linux accounts on the Banner ePrint server. These accounts will be available for FTPing the security (for non-Banner defined repositories only) and the report data from your report-generating application to the server. Follow the guidelines below.
For both the security FTP user (for transferring the security extract file) and the report FTP users (for transferring the report data), you must specify the login (user ID) and password. Type carefully; the Login cannot be modified.
Login: | This field is 12 characters in length. A login name is suggested by the system, using the first 6 characters of the repository name + s - security / d - reports. You may override this value. If the login already exists on the system, you will be prompted to enter a unique value. |
---|---|
New Password: | Type the Linux account password to be used by the FTP user. |
Re-enter Password: | Re-type the Linux account password to be used by the FTP user, as a verification of your data entry. |
NOTE: For Banner defined repositories using the automated FTP process, the report FTP User name and password must be identical and match the print queue name defined in Banner for this repository.
When you select Initialize, the FTP users are created, the necessary directories are created, and initialization results are displayed. See "Using the 'Initialization Results' Page" for more information.
If the security or report password does not match the verification password, a system message will be displayed. The repository will not be initialized until the password and verification password match for both the security and report FTP users.
