The "pick pages" (search report) screen enables you to specify a page key for the data to be included in the selected report. This page appears when you select the "Search Report" icon next to a report on the report list. To use this page, follow the guidelines below.

1. If necessary, select a page key.

The page key(s) for each report type were defined at implementation, with a limit of three keys per report type. If there are multiple page keys defined for the report, you must make a selection from the drop-down list provided. You may only use one page key at a time for any given report, but you can search again with a different page key. If only one page key is defined for the report, no drop-down list will appear. (A page key name may indicate that it is "unformatted." This simply means that the key values do not contain any special formatting characters, such as dashes.)

2. Depending on your requirements, you can...

Pick values manually for the page key: Click the GO button next to "Pick Values Manually." All of the valid values for the selected page key (to which you have security access) will be displayed. You then will be able to select the value(s) to appear on the report. For more information, see the "Selecting Page Key Values" topic.

Provide a specific value for the page key: Key in a value in the "Search" field and click the corresponding GO button. If the value you're searching for is not on file, a screen message will tell you that no matches are found. Otherwise, the system will display a validation page that lists the selected value. For more information, see "Using the Validation Page".

Search using a wildcard: A wildcard character is a keyboard character used to represent one or more real characters that you are searching for. Wildcard characters are often used in place of one or more characters when you don't know what the real characters are.

You can use the percent (%) as a substitute for zero or more characters. For example if you are looking for a page key that you know starts with FG, but you can't remember the rest of the key, you can type the following: FG%

Search will locate all of the page keys that begin with FG including FGBKZZ, FGCMLL, FG0001 and FG0101.

To narrow the search even more, type:FG%1

In this case, the search will find all of the page keys that begin with FG and end with a 1, such as FG0001 and FG0101.

Select a range of values for the page key: Key in the beginning and ending values for the selected page key in the two "Range" fields near the bottom of the page. Then press the GO button to the right of these fields. If the values you're searching for are not on file, a screen message will tell you that no matches are found. Otherwise, the system will display a validation page that lists the selected values. For more information, see "Using the Validation Page".

Use a previously saved search request: You can select a previously used search request instead of selecting items. Select the saved search setting you would like to use and press the GO button.
